My mindset has always been that you can not treat someone’s medical conditions if their mental health/wellness is not addressed and that life is about the journey.
I obtained my MD degree from The George Washington School of medicine in 2003 and completed my psychiatry residency in 2007 at University of Maryland/ Sheppard Pratt. My career journey started in 2007 with me working on an inpatient behavioral health unit and opening a private practice with an emphasis on Womens mental health. My private practice has been the mainstay of my journey while I also worked on a college campus, with women in transitional housing, in a community outpatient clinic and as a consult liaison psychiatrist in the hospital. In 2021, the journey changed as I closed my private practice and joined the Mid Atlantic permanente medical group (MAP-MG) at Kaiser permanente where collaboration and coordination of care can be easily achieved.
